A recording of a shower door, i used this sound through izotope iris 2 to produce a low, slow bassy kick sound, for a pretty ambient piece i did. I don't know why i became fascinated with the shower door. Bathroom time can be surprisingly pensive, so perhaps the sound of the door shunting shut became associated with that introspective space for me. Yes, i am aware that this the second bathroom sound i have shared. This may take on a certain significance given the fact that i have only shared a handful of recordings, but i encourage you not to read too deeply in to this fact.

A large (12 person) elevator located in an apartment building that was built as a hotel for the 1972 olympic games in munich, germany. There are four of these in the building, and they all rattle like nobody's business. In this recording, a part of the elevator arrival chime that plays on the ground floor can be heard in the beginning. Then, i walk into the elevator (two clicks in the recording here) and the doors close. Then it travels up 12 floors and the doors open with a very concerning metal rubbing sound.

Has a nice, subtle low hum, which is actually from a plane flying overhead. Also contains knocking sounds, which is most likely the door being a bit loose. Would be awesome for horror atmospheres. Recording from the balcony of my air bnb in venice, italy. You can hear doors opening, people walking, dogs barking, seagulls, a plane goes by, a person with a limp walks by, speech in italian and other ambient sounds through a reverberant street. There are no cars to pollute the soundscape.

One of my brothers came by spontaneously to say hello and he slammed the door behind him hahah. It was non-aggressive of course, the door is heavy and has to be slammed in order for it to be properly closed !.
